There is a different airbrush retarder from the premium line, is there any difference with the old sticky retarder medium ?
I hadn't thought of adding Future, as I've also noticed that they dry "soft"I'll have to give that a whirl. To this mix I add 1-2 drops of Future. This means that there is no consistent ratio you can use to thin the paint. 90% isopropylalcohol from wal-martI use it with tamiya pants not problem but Vallejo just became stringy. There is also an implication, at least, that alcohol may be used as a cosolvent (which would speed drying).
However, it almost certainly does not make 100% of its own products: the One Shot primer, for example, states "made in USA" from which we can infer what it probably is. One more VERY important point. I'll be waiting for your next article, I also started to use the Metal Color line, and I'm happy with them so far, but I'm sure your sorcery will improve the results. I understand what you said, and it sounds like a great mixture, especially the part about adding the Future to add "hardness" to the paint.
Also flooding and in general, area spraying was so smooth. I am curious if other modelers are noticing the same thing or not. to be wise.
I do spray both the game color and model color line from vallejo when I need a specific color, and generally have good success. Unit C5 - C6
Is there anything that can be added to make the surface harder. Do I need to add a bit more thinner as well ?
Though I do agree, It's probably the same thing as Vallejo thinner.
The Model Air colours are manufactured with permanent fine arts
I mainly use tap water with a drop of Liquetex flowaid and slow dry. The concept of "drop" is subjective because that thing is thick.
How to measure how much retarder you have to add? How you figured it out is beyond me but it works.
When thinning vallejo (or citadel which I like far less, but sometimes use), it's not really precise.

I love Vallejjo, but I have always had issues with the quality when airbrushing.
I just did 10 drops as small as possible because it's so goopy - works fine.
Shaking is simply ineffective in a container that small if the viscosity is at all greater than water.
Vallejo also produce a range called Premium RC Colors which is designed for airbrushing RC Body Shells and is also suitable for Automotive Airbrushing.
To what VOLUME of water and Golden's do you add a couple of drops of Future?
Do you use Vallejo's proprietary thinner in your mixture? A little strangeness, now and then, is a good thing.
As for my ratio, I use an empty contact len solution bottle, a small one, probably about twice the size of a vallejo paint bottle. Hi again, guys. Personally I haven't tried thinning Vallejo with water, but as indicated above I've heard it works fine. Many men know a great deal, and are all the greater fools

Vallejo's Hull Red is maroon-like in color and I am looking for a color that is more reddish-orange in tone. Thanks for the QUICK response.
Thank you for sharing your recipe; I've used "the mix," and now I don't have any issues with dry tips, didn't try fine lines yet but looks promising. THIS IS KEY!
Paint inks. What to mix with what a simple guide. I had several modellers reach out to me regarding what that mixture is and how I get good results with Vallejo paints. It's simple (okay, hydrodynamics isn't that simple) physics.
Aaron found no defects in the cured coating with respect to surface qualities or adhesion.
I tried the same mix on PS289 0.3mm airbrush, however the result is not as good with lots of spattering. I get very fine lines and full coverage without any tip drying.

Do some test sprays on something you don't care about, and tinker with your thinning ratios and air pressure until you find what works best with your airbrush setup.
During winter here I noticed I didn't need as much thinner to paint. Can they be ANY clearer about this? The Vallejo website says you can use distilled watertheir instructions specify it.
I think your issue might be that Vallejo products are formulated to work with each other.

Also if anyone would like to share ideas for building plastic models in general and ship models in general, I'd like their comments. I also sanded after only 10-15 minutes and it actually feathered. Before I purchased these, Vallejo told me that they can be thinned and airbrushed. Again thanks for sharing the receipt, at least I can use my PS770 with acrylic paint now.

I mix 2 parts diatilled water: 1 part golden's airbrush medium (available at any art supply store such as Michaels or Hobby Lobby). Since the nozzle is larger I was actually expecting some improvements over the results with PS770, perhaps it has something to do with the design of cavity in the nozzle and how the airflow mixed with the paint within it.
I read once that Ammo and Vallejo paints are made in the same factory. It was just so frustrating. Everything Airbrush are the leading suppliers of quality airbrush paints from many of the leading brands, such as Vallejo, Harder & Steenbeck, Tamiya and JVR. I recall Mig Jimenez mentioning in a video (at some point in the last year or two) that Ammo's factory had been expanded considerably. varnish vallejo I got rid of them immediately the first time. Mig Jimenez was, as is stated on Ammo's website, involved in creating Mig Productions and AK Interactive before parting ways with AK to set up Ammo.
I had so much paint leftover even after the sheet and the test piece. I fill it 2/3 distilled water, 1/3 golden's airbrush medium, and about 2-3 drops of future.
I use Model Color for brush painting.
Since I don't have the retarder medium (70.597), I replaced it with theretarder from the premium line and mixed with model air paint with 50/50 ratio at 20 psi as suggested. I was not getting the best results.

I do agree they are a bit 'soft' or more specifically, aren't very durable to the touch.
So I made a bottle of "mix" but unfortunately I had to head back to work early and thus never had a chance to play! I agree about the cost, I got the large bottle of flow improver and have been using about half and half with thinner lately, but as soon as my next bottle is empty I'll make a batch like you say!
I never add future to the paint directly, tend to get waaayy too much future, which can really make a mess! We do not sell, rent or trade our email lists.

I added some pictures of old models airbrushes with Vallejo model air.

Then shake the hell out of the bottle. Vallejo makes their own thinner that comes in the same type bottle as their paints (they call it "diluant").
But I am still not sure exactly how much thinning solution to use with the one or two drops of Future.
It seems like the paint is not thinned enough (I usually have paint vs thinner at 1:0.5, with this receiptpaint vs thinner is roughly at 1:0.3).
I had several modellers reach out to me regarding what that mixture is and how I get good results with Vallejo paints. Your link has been automatically embedded. Thanks again, ---Michael.
Anyway, that could lead me to yet another, though unrelated rant. Also, a little goes a long way. So I did some tests and found a mixture for airbrushing that is fantastic.
Try the mixture with the vallejo retarder and let me know what happens. I noticed your profile says you are located in Canada. After that, I HIGHLY recommend straining your paint. PLEASE bear in mind this is for the Game Color and Model Color line ONLY! But I am not sure.

dyes which are not water soluble. My biggest criticism of Vallejo, so far, is their packaging. In the end, I found your ratio of paint to thinner a little off..I ended up going 70/30 or 80/20 paint to mixture to get enough colour coverage, but the paint went down nice and level and there was no splattering or build up on the airbrush tip.
As you can see from the pictures, I can get fine lines with no tip drying issues. View our, Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. I should mention that I use to HATE Vallejo model air.

I guess I should increase the ratio of retarder to fully get rid of the tip dry ?
Shake well, then use this mix to thin vallejo paints for airbrushing. I have put the paint on thick or thin and I'm getting a very nice finish. If so, how much?
Hi again, Just to let you know,I didn't get to read your complete answer at first as it got "cut off" on my computer screen.
Too spendy for what you get, and there are better products to thin with both for brush painting and airbrushing. All suggestions will be appreciated.
There is no such thing as a "paint hardener." The ratio improver/thinner I did with a scale on which I put the empty bottle.
