It appears there has been a reformulation and rice may have been removed. And I hate this so much - again, to be fair, I understand that my nose and my chemistry play a part in this. I have positive feelings toward this scent. The most plastic vanilla you can imagine. This is definitely not a warm, rich vanilla and personally I don't think it's worth buying when there are so many amazing vanilla-based fragrances out there. I've always found this sexy-though basic-it really captures people's(men's wink wink) attention and I've been followed around many times while wearing this! Unfortunately, Warm Vanilla Sugar just didn't live up to my standards. The body spray last on me +5 hours .. I love fall, so this is one of the few things I like about the current BBW over the old BBW. I do smell some vanilla and sugar and nothing else compared to the other notes mentioned here. the original vanilla vanilla by the Body Shop (like 7 years ago) was my fave plain vanilla scent but they have reformulated it and now it just smells too sweet and synthetic. Beautiful, warm, cozy and sweet vanilla with a subtle touch of sandalwood. I can still smell it on my clothes before I wash them but I have to shove the pieces in my face. To me it gives off the smell of burnt sugar. A little overpowering, may cause headaches. I will always love the smell but I really only use the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel now!!! To me, this smells better on a woman than any other women's fragrance I've ever smelled. The scent lasts literally all day and I can always smell it on my clothes, jacket, etc. My boyfriend loves it still on me, and we consider it my signature scent for almost my entire college life because my friends and classmates automatically recognize this scent as mine. I think the perfect way to describe this fragrance is "soft". Very sweet but I get a lot of coconut out of this one, to the point it reminds me more of a suntan lotion scent than a vanilla one. It beats Pink Sugar which I can successfully wear and enjoy myself. I bought this frag partly because of that rice note, yet it failed to impress me raw, unrinsed and screechy Uncle Ben's rice (which technically, is not per se a rice genus). Very nice and comforting. Other than that complaint, this is a lovely everyday scent. I smelled this from a colleague of mine and discovered it in a very interesting way. I prefer more complex vanilla scents, like Hypnotic Poison, or The One, which I find somewhat similar, cause in both all I smell is caramel and vanilla, sweet, sweet scent, although The One in its EDP version has better sillage and its more expensive. Filigree's review says exactly what I wanted to say. It didnt have much of a smell. Such a simple memory of such a weird, tumultuous time. I received this when I was 13 and I remember a richer smelling vanilla. I got the bottle with holographic swirls. I like my scents to not be overwhelming, yes, but I like people to know I'm wearing them without having to basically be on top of me. Oh! The floral notes in this keep it from being a cupcakey vanilla smell like many other perfumes that smell cheap and synthetic.. I mean /hate/. Familiar and pleasant, flirty and attractive. When I went through my first major vanilla fragrance craving last fall I bought a travel sized mist of Warm Vanilla Sugar. For the cost it's a good buy. Enough sandalwood and musk for a smooth, creamy drydown, but VANILLA is the star from top to bottom. My sister likes fruity and gourmand/bakery scents (opposite of me) and she liked this one. Make warm vanilla sugar, not war. This one, along with a few others, have been changed. Unfortunately, the new reformulated version is worse. Yum. This is a very nice fragrance, soft and non-offensive. Sugar Vanilla has a lot more alcohol on the initial spray, and they smell almost the same on the dry down, but Sugar Vanilla lasts longer IMO. 1 glitter starter gel4 fragrance potions (pick-a-peach, flower power, fruit smoothie, and sweetie pie)3 quick colors (red, blue, and yellow). Like I said, the rice/sugar note really makes this unique and nice. I pick up a tiny bit of coconut but not so pronounced that it is easy to discern. The musk and sandalwood add a nice warm touch to the sugary vanilla. It is nice and I can see how people love this I personally dont LOVE it but I like it. Pointless. I totally dig this scent, it reminds me of all things that really warms the heart. This is a great casual perfume for the wintertime for me! It smells like vanilla cookies baking in the oven. Reminds me of Vanilla&Sandalwood body spray from Avon, but that one is more sandalwoody and since I'm more of a sucker for vanilla, I definitely prefer WVS. It is that good. :(. Is it me, or did back in the day did this smell different? i don't like it as a perfume.. it's more suitable as a room fragrance. What a bummer, they ruined such a great scent. I didn't love it. The coconut note makes it stand out from so many other vanilla fragrances on the market. Or freshly baked cookies and a warm drink! Red Delicious is too sharp and bitter for me on its own. It's intoxicating. Did the fragrance and color turn out all right? Maybe because I haven't used it in awhile, but I actually feel that this could be a unisex frag. The Body Shop Vanilla is a better option for a simple vanilla scent in the same price range. Sorry Ive beenoffline for so long - sometimes you just need a blog break, you know? My younger sister passed this onto me, presumably because she didn't like it that much. This is like a warm simple yet fancy sophisticated fragrance! Merry Christmas to the Fragrantica world! That being said, the B&BW version is the better deal, you get twice as much for the same price. The BBW version is bolder in a different way and really long lasting, but both have an impact and linger. This is one scent I have loved the longest and will continue to love always! I love this when I want something simple and sweet, but a little darker. Its not terrible but I have better vanillas in my collection. There was something in it that made it incredibly edible, incredibly comforting, addicting, and you wanted to wrap yourself around it like a light cashmere shawl made out of real Kashmiri goat hair. Makes it more wearable all year.
This scent is by no means the sweetest vanilla 'gourmand' on the market. Now I think it's quite tame on the sugar, and I smell more of the warm toasted vanilla notes. Not horriblebut not my taste. All of my coworkers were looking at me like I was a crazy person taking pictures of it. The coconut is hardly detectable, so it doesn't have that exotic beach effect and it's perfect for cold days. Go for anything but the body mist, which has wayyy too much alcohol in it. I want the EDT on this one once my body spray runs out because it is so nice! I like it on her, but I don't care too much for the way it smells on me. This is gonna be my winter scent. I bought it since second year college, and I have used up two full size body mists and two minis since then. Also debuting that year was the Halloween-specific fragrance Creamy Caramel. Lately i've been a bit frustrated and bewildered by this once amazing brand, but WVS has pulled me out of this somewhat dreary funk. its very delicious! :( Ugh. The lotion is even worse! It was like someone had bottled my personality into a body mist. I remember one fixture dedicated to fall/Halloween stuff, and that quickly disappeared to make way for Christmas stuff in October. Another cozy warm scent from BABW. I got some bottles and I'm using them up by spraying this under almost every perfume I wear cuz I love vanilla always and it rarely messes up a frag. I have it in the body mist, lotion, cream, and shower gel and have been using it for years. It makes me feel so cozy and warm, like I'm wrapped in a blanket. Smelling like a cookie never fails and my bottle of Warm Vanilla Sugar doesn't last long. The leg gel is from the Health & Beauty Farm line that launched in 1994. Was it fun to make? My favorite product from the line was the sugar scrub, it was magical. smells good, but i don't want to smell like fresh baked cookies and cakes. Very nice! This perfume/fragrance has all the notes for something very warm and delicious and when it first came out it was but it isn't anymore. Super yummy. Im sure it was quickly learned by their product development people that making this a spray-on splash would be much more convenient. I don't smell the coconut, maybe just a hint of sandalwood but really a tiny bit. It is excellent for layering under different fragrances. It smells like a melted sugar and very linear. I have WVS from the late 90's or early 2000's. Perfection. This smells nothing like vanilla, at all. I can't find the article now. That goes-with-almost-everything kind of fragrance. Someone gave this to me for Christmas 2012. Perfume lovers: 792,176 Alas. Hmmmmmmmmmmm, Yummy! Most of the time, I find it very cloying, warm and sticky (if sticky was a smell). I used about 5 or 6 sprays all over and it lasted at least 6 hours. I do believe they have changed the formula. But I think that's what sets it apart (especially at the price range) This scent reminds me of macaroons, with a little extra spice added in the mix.
I remember hoarding the stuff at every semi-annual sale. The drydown on my skin smells like soured vanilla because of that. Even though it's not for me (doesn't really work with my body chemistry) I love how it smells on other people; very warm and cuddly. easy when i don't know which fragrance i want to wear. More of a burnt-sugar vanilla than a sexy vanilla cream (a la Victoria's Secret Vanilla Lace) or fresh vanilla (a la Vanilla Bean Noel). Like a dessert!! It's a very pleasant perfume, and it's not too strong. Though the original wasn't complex it was warm and reminiscent like a soft blanket or vanilla rice pudding with its basmati rice and sandalwood base. This is more of an effortless scent that is "attractive". The EDT spray layered with the body butter is enough to last me all day long, from morning to night, with good sillage the whole time. This used to be lovely before it became a cheap watered down generic version. Complex,long lasting,soft,warm and inviting. BBW just announced the launch of itsall-NEW 100% Hypoallergenic Body Care line, Pure Simplicity. This scent is worn proudly on the skin as such: a skin scent. It is an easily accessible and affordable vanilla fragrance that smells surprisingly pleasant on the skin. Beautiful vanilla scent. I find that warm vanilla sugar is an especially nice fragrance to use for layering, it's good for adding a little depth and warmth to certain perfumes. Great for casual wear. I got the lotion of it for my birthday, along with a bath sponge and a B&BW gift card. However, I like it! I bought the body lotion & mist as my after-shower-before- sleep fragrances. Marc Jacobs Daisy Ever So Fresh Eau de Parfum, New Magnolias This Summer (2022): L'Eau D'Issey Eau & Magnolia, Miu Miu Twist Eau de Magnolia, and Beautiful Magnolia Intense Estee Lauder. This perfume is perfect for every seasons. eBay bottles don't cut it and are getting stale. and was so embarrassed when I sniffed my hands and said, "Oh gosh, it's ME!" Wow, thank you for taking a photo of it! It is a lot like Victoria's Secret vanilla lace but actually better, it isn't that kind of sticky vanilla it's just edible and really appealing. The scent lingers all throughout the hallway. It is so cuddly and warm and I just want to eat it! It smells like a synthetic mess of off-putting aroma-chemicals with some vanilla thrown inand something minty?? And you end up chewing them together. This scent is straight up sandalwood and rice on me. I guess if it were gifted to me I would use it rather than throw it away, which is the kind of scent I was expecting. I know it's for women but I love vanilla scents so I wear this layered with Bath and Body Works Twilight Woods Signature Collection for men and the two mingling with one another smell amazing! I only like the body spray, the perfume or eau de toilette is weak. Yummy! My favorite vanilla a childhood blanket, a worn-in pair of jeans, the softest knitted sweater, an old robe with holes in it that you still wear anyway. I mean its an absolute classic what more is there to say?
It makes me feel good and homey. Thehero product of the line was the pumpkin face mask, which looked and smelled like pumpkin pie filling. I don't ever really use this except for maybe Thanksgiving. The drydown is rich and sweet like a cuddle: sandalwood, musk and rice (my new favourite note)! I'm not a fragrance snob and I generally like BBW scents, but this one is just awful. It is a little juvenile though, but if you're a teenager and into sweeter scents, this is right up your alley. The quality went down on warm vanilla sugar along with others. I still have a nostalgic appreciation for it, but I think it's a bit too sweet/gourmand for me, now. Warm Vanilla Sugar is the perfect scent for a cozy day/evening in. So so so warm smelling. A little floral and powdery dry down too. A simple vanilla, inoffensive but does the trick if you want a sweet fix. It has some light floral notes, vanilla, sugar, rice and musk. At first it has a very overpowering alcohol smell until it warms down. I love vanilla. It requires a bit of overspraying to achieve a decent sillage and longevity. Did you mix different fragrances and colors together? Used to love the old formula. I love Warm Vanilla Sugar, but wish the Eau De Parfum was still available. I was not dissapointed. If you layer the lotion with the Japanese Cherry Blossom spray, you'll get a woody floral scent. Deodorant soaps were big in the90s (think Zest, Irish Spring, and Lever 2000), so of course BBW had to develop its own natural version. For me the coconut is strong, which gives it a little more intrigue than you'd otherwise expect. It cost around 15 and is a perfect example of getting what you pay for. This used to be a dreamy cozy vanilla but something has definitely changed. A strong alcohol smell for first few minutes until it dries down, heard it was a dupe for Kayali vanilla 28 but nope it is not LOL. I think the scent of EDT is way better than body spray and lotion. I've tried this in the shower gel, scrub, and spray forms and I love all of them. I just bought Tokyo Milk's "Sugar Sugar" (not in the Fragrantica DB) and it smells EXACTLY like B&BW's Warm Vanilla Sugar (both of which I like.) Then, it seemed roo light for me at night and I switched to hypnotic poison. It's just OK. i second julieladybug, i like the VS vanilla lace more.but this is a great warm scent too,definitely for the colder seasons! A soft, warm, and comforting scent for fall and winter. You just screwed off the top, poured a bit in your hand, andsplashed it on manually. It smells fuzzy somehow.
