If, on the other hand, you want to see sites solely in the north, then Taormina makes more sense. It was a bit difficult to see but we did see something. If you are travelling with your partner and you want to stay only in one place then I would suggest. If you are using only public transportation, then you will be happy to know that there is a train line that connects Catania to Siracusa/Ortigia, Noto and Ragusa.
