Today is the kickoff for the highly anticipated Northwest House Music Conference. For the next 6 days the clubs, parks, delis, classrooms, and U-haul busses throughout Portland, Oregon will be singing the song called HOUSE MUSIC.

The world is watching as the NEW-clear generation of house heroes step side-by-side with global jet-setting DJ talent. Forrest Avery and his team (SerialSickness) have REALLY worked to involve an impressive spread of jockeys, artists, promoters, and venues… but this isn’t only about the dance floor. NWHMC will feature opportunities to understand what makes this culture work. Workshops and Meet & Greet activities will provide a casual meeting ground to see what it takes to run a label, tighten up your bookings, and manage your workflow.

Had a great time at CLOSER Music Festival. I even ordered a shirt afterwards. I am grateful for the opportunity to begin working as a video environment projectionist and ‘lighting guy’ … and last week a nice video featuring captured footage from the Portland, Oregon festival’s events made it to Vimeo.
